Local Runners Tackle Race at Manasquan Reservoir

Farmingdale resident finished third in female race

It was a busy day at the Manasquan Reservoir on Sunday as 107 runners converged for a five-mile race around the property.

Racers from around the Tri-State area came to Howell to run and in the end it was Angel Confesor from Brooklyn who won the men's race in 29:05.5. He was followed by Neptune's Pat Ford who ran a 30:14.1 and Dave Hallman of Wrightstown who was close behind with a time of 30:38.1.

Winning the women's race was Tammy Minott of Wilmington, DE with a time of 36:10.1. Unlike the men's race Minott narrowly edged out her closest competitor in Wendy Kerr of Hawthorne who ran a 36:12.8 for a close second. The local towns were well represented in both races including Farmingdale's own Marian Westley who finished third with a time of 39:48.5.
