New Season Means New Group for Rebel Football

Team makes move to CJ V

The 2012 season will be a year of new things for the football team. 

With the new season comes a new coach with the , a new quarterback to replace , and now a new group for the state playoffs. 

In a story on NJ.com the Rebels have moved from Central Jersey Group IV to the newly formed .

The new group has plenty of familiar faces from right in the Shore Conference including Brick Memorial, Freehold Township, Manalapan and Monroe. The Greater Middlesex Conference is also represented in the new group with schools like East Brunswick and Monroe as well as Colonial Valley Conference teams like West Windsor Plainsboro North and Trenton Central.

The new group extends all the way up to Hunterdon County and the Skyland Conference with representation from schools like Hunterdon Central.

As he gets ready for his first season at the helm of the Rebels, said his team has other things to worry about before they get to the state tournament. "We're used to the groups changing slightly from year to year with teams coming in and teams coming out," he said. 

Even before the Rebels can think about competing in states, Reichenbecher said the first step is getting there. "First you have to earn your way in, and then, no matter who is there it is going to be something you have to earn," he said. "We'll just have to worry about the Howell Rebels and doing what it takes to matter who is in our section."
