As the snow melts on the local fields baseball season is right around the corner and the PAL Elite Baseball Team will be holding tryouts in Howell for a chance to be on one of the top teams in the area.
Tryouts are being held on Saturdays throughout February from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Ballpark in Farmingdale on Asbury. The team is open to high school members of the class of 2014, 2015 and 2016. There is no fee to tryout for the team.
John McNamara, the manager of the team said players will be a part of a program that helps develop a player's talents and guide them through the college recruiting process. The team plays in tournaments as far away as Florida, Georgia and Virginia as well as staying close to home in New York and New Jersey.
