SATURDAY FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Howell-TR North Postponed; Colts Neck Wins

A roundup of Shore Conference football

Results of Saturday's high school football games, gathered from nj.com, app.com and All Shore Media:

Howell was scheduled to travel to Toms River North for a 7 p.m. start, but warnings of potentially severe weather forced officials to postpone the game.

Instead, the Rebels and the Mariners will play Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. in Toms River.

Colts Neck 14, Toms River East 7: Mike Campbell's 8-yard touchdown pass to Giovanni Zefferrino with less than two minutes left in the game lifted the host Cougars to victory over the Raiders. Campbell also passed for a 42-yard touchdown to Tim Vangelas.

Mike Gudzak scored on a 70-yard touchdown run for Toms River East.

Long Branch 18, Manasquan 13: Joscil Jackson rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown as the Green Wave beat the host Warriors. 

Point Boro 27, Monmouth 14: Quarterback Chris Oliphant rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns and Ryan Prout rushed for a score as the Panthers downed the host Golden Falcons in Tinton Falls. Kurt VanBenschoten had 10 tackles on defense for Point Boro.

Red Bank Catholic 47, Red Bank 0: The Caseys, coming off a 2011 season where they were the top team in the Shore Conference, opened with an easy victory over the Buccaneers in Little Silver. Jesse Flaherty and Michael Cordova combined for three rushing touchdowns and quarterback Patrick Toomey passed for two more in the shutout.
