Howell Day Comes With Heat Advisory

Oak Glen Park should be the place to be on Saturday as the township hosts the annual Howell Day Celebration.

Much like last year the National Weather Service is predicting a hot day in the township even with the latest start time. The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. at an event that will feature free rides, vendors, live music, food and fireworks as the grand finale.

The Eddie Testa Band is scheduled to start at 5:15 on the stage and will be the opening act for The Nerds who are set to go on at 7 leading up to the pyrotechnics.

There will be no parking at the park with shuttle buses scheduled to run from Middle School North and Howell High School as well as the Aldrich Park & Ride.

The temperature at the park when the event starts could still be as high as 90 degrees according to the latest forecasts Friday night dropping to around 80 when the night is done. The heat advisory has been issued from 11 a.m. on Saturday until 8 p.m. on Sunday. With the heat index it could feel like the temperature is over 100 degrees especially during the day over the weekend.
