When the Inzerillo family was setting their goals for the year one of the things they wanted to do was find an activity to do together to benefit others.
Chris Inzerillo said he and his wife Tish felt it was important for their three daughters to learn about helping other people. With that in mind 7-year-old twins Lily and Kaitlyn and their little sister 4-year-old Nicole found an organization that helps other kids in need.
The Inzerillo is working with an organization called Stuffed Animals For Emergencies. The group provides stuffed friends for children in traumatic situations like natural disasters and fires.
Inzerillo said the items collected will given to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County. The stuffed animals can be either new or gently used. He said if they collect enough new items they will be donated to the K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
There will be two drop off points for the donated items. The first is at the Inzerillo house located at 6 Nancy Street. There will also be a collection held at the starting on Monday and running through Friday.
No matter how many items are donated Inzerillo said being a part of the project and helping the organizatin is what matters. "They wanted to do something good for the community," he said. "It sounded like a great thing that my girls could do and understand and be a part of."
