Freehold Regional Board Coming to Howell Monday Night

A look at events happening in Howell this week.

Before 2013 comes to an end the Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education will hold one more regularly scheduled meeting at Howell High School before the Howell Planning Board holds its last meeting of the year.

The agenda for the regional schools meeting includes student recognition awards and proclamations by Howell Mayor Bill Gotto and Farmingdale Mayor Jay Morgan welcoming the board to the local area. Also on the agenda is an item to approve Shawn Currie as a replacement assistant principal at Freehold Township High School.

When the Howell Planning Board meets on Thursday night they are scheduled to resume a hearing on an application that could see big changes come to a Route 9 intersection if approved.

The application calls for the construction of a CVS pharmacy with a drive thru, a Quick Check convenience store with a gas station and an Investors Savings Bank with drive thru to be built at the intersection of Route 9 North and Salem Hill Road. This is the third hearing the board has had on the application.
