Colts Neck NJROTC Bringing Polar Express to Barnes & Noble

A look at events happening in Howell this weekend.

It will be a busy and fun weekend here in Howell now that the holiday season is underway and the Colts Neck NJROTC is getting into the spirit with a special fundraiser at two local bookstores.

The Polar Express will be arriving at the Barnes & Noble Route 9 locations in Howell and Freehold at 7 p.m. There will also be a showcase by the Colts Neck High School Naval JROTC from 5:30 until 8 p.m. including a visit by Santa, chances for children to do crafts and gift wrapping to help with purchased presents.

Colts Neck High’s own Harmonicats will also be performing. The money raised will benefit the Howell SEPAC, the Ashley Lauren Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House and Operation Shoebox New Jersey.

On Saturday Aldrich School will host a craft and vendor fair starting at 9 a.m. giving local residents a chance to buy some locally made presents for their friends and family. Just down the road Prince of Peace Church will be hosting a Trash or Treasure Flea Market selling a wide variety of items including baked goods, food and snacks.

The Adelphia Fire Department will be hosting a pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday. For just $8 for adults and $6 for children under the age of 8 participants can enjoy pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and a variety of breakfast beverages.
