This is extremely sad for the family and friends. My sincere condolences for their loss on whatRead More should have been a joyous day. This young woman was killed and the driver of that car has a head injury, while the people in the other car(including a pregnant woman) were both uninjured. I wonder...Were they wearing their seat belts? One third of traffic fatalities are caused by not buckling up. Plus most fatalities happen within 5 miles of home. Please... Wear your seat belts.

Other news outlets gave a lot more details. After hitting the Savastinos' vehicle on 35, the HondaRead More hit a curb, overturned, hit the traffic light, and went airborne into the marina parking lot. It then struck a truck and came to a stop near the waterline. The young lady was ejected from the car, and she landed in the water. The police are investigating whether the driver was DUI. Wow, Just how fast was he traveling? It seems like a crash like that should take a lot of momentum.

Speedy trial? Define speedy. Charles Manson and company committed the Tate/LaBianca murders inRead More 1969. The trial wasn’t until two years later. It took over a year before Jack Ruby went on trial for shooting Oswald. And the entire nation saw him do that on TV. The infamous Boston Strangler was caught in early 1964 but wasn’t sentenced until 1967. Its only on Law & Order that it goes from commission of the crime to sentencing in an hour.

Breaking news @Linda etc., what I think is that your pension should have been deferred to such timeRead More that you were eligible for Social Security and factored accordingly, and should reflect gains and losses based on your contributions. Most people in the Howell/Lakewood area will remember a place on the northbound side of Rte9 justRead More south of Kimbal Hospital. ............................ The owner came here, I believe from Germany or Baviara and bought that land . He built a small deli and expanded over the years to inclusde licquor and later into a big Resturant and banquet hall he named The Castle. ...................... He went all out on the building. He spent a fortune on a clock on the froint roof with man sized toy soldiers who came in and out of the building. The inside was of high quality. ................................................. I have been coming down to this area since the 1970's and he was here since then and probably well before.............. as they say Chit happens and he lost everything. The property was foreclosed. His new Resturant lay closed. Over the years it fell into disrepair. Lat time I passed by it was still standing........... He went from being successful to living in the woods and even living in the parking lot of his old business with signs asking for his business back. That was his life for many many years............ I read that his family wanted nothing to do with him................. eventually he was taken in by a person in Howell, but sadly he died not long after finally having a home again................... Never believe this can not happen to you...........

@Rapturd which is the accurate spelling of your ID, You're just a know it all blowhard who has anRead More ego problem thinking you're smarter than someone else. So I'll point out what your too stewepit to knew, 1...... Not all spelling mistakes are mistakes . Some are done that way specifically to insult know it all egomaniacs 2...... no one knows everything 3...... no one can ever know even 1/1000000000000 of everything 4...... you know almost nothing 5...... no one except you cares he made a mistake 6...... again I suggest you take all of your wisdumb and start your own news service . 7...... you're wrong. Many words change in pronunciation and/or spelling over the years, especially in the English language.. Listen to someone read 'Old English' sometime and see if you can understand any words spoken. Many words morphed into the same spelling and pronunciation yet described different things such as a fly insect, fly ball, fly pants zipper, fly in a plane etc., Also there are different words in the English language that are spelled different , pronounced different yet mean the same thing such as when describing you one might call you an 'ass' while another may call you an 'arse', but an 'ass' can also be that donkey looking creature or the part of a human body used to sit on. Further, just as there are numerous words for 'ass' such as butt, buttocks, hinny, arse, ass, boo tocks, buns as well as several more in the English language, there are several terms used to mean that same device . You are only correct in that the name 'wheelbarrow' is the generally accepted term used in most English speaking countries, HOWEVER that does not in any way what they are called all over America and words pronounced the same but with different meanings The 'wheelbarrow' is the English name given to the extremely similar invention made hundreds of years earlier in China where there was no word 'barrow' ..... oddly enough it was also called a different name when used to describe that almost identical invention in Egypt.. A All of these and many more, were invented blind of knowledge of other inventors having already made them in far away lands the name wheelBARREL actually came from medieval England when old wine BARRELS were halved to make what some say that the term wheelbarrow was because some people thought the name 'wheelbarrow' was what they heard these devices because the device called because they were commonly used to move dirt, which in olden England mounds of dirt, hills and sometimes mountains were called 'barrows'. some thought a 'wheelbarrel' was the peasants mispronunciation of 'wheelbarrow' ignoring the easily seen fact that thing was made out of 1/2 of a barrel. Eventually 'wheelbarrow, became the accepted English word to describe them.. so miss smarty pants you're wrong. Also the original name - 'Wheel Barrel' as well as the name it evolved into 'Wheel Barrow' were originally written as 2 words, not the one word they evolved into. Try actually studying the English language and you may learn something..

I don't give a fat rats buttocks about the alleged training of military forces at any base anywhereRead More in the country. There isn't a nation on earth that can even come close to competing with the United States force for force. America behaves like a crazed mad bomber. Yes, our guns are always ablazen! The notion that even a major power the likes of China or Russia could outlast America in conflict is ridiculous. At the opposite end of that spectrum there is that always present possibility, and much talked about "threat of terrorism" and another September 11. What do the American people have to fear from terrorists who believe that they can bring down America by staging car bombings across our country? Even if America does face credible possible attacks by Islamic extremists in the future, how will the training exercises now taking place on military installations across the country aid U.S law enforcement in any way? These people vaporize themselves when they launch an attack, so what use is it for the military to practice precision demolition? If this all sounds as if I am personally fed up with all of the earth shaking under my double-wide mobile home here in Manchester, then the reader has gotten my message. I sure wish the mad bombers would as well.

Faced with the stark seriousness of this story and my fondness, loyalty and support for allRead More LEOs...when I first read this story I thought of my favorite songwriter and favorite song--"The Streets of Laredo" by Marty Robbins. If you recall, the singer ( Marty) walks out into the streets of Laredo and spies a young Cowboy all wrapped in white linen. The Cowboy confesses that he had done bad and knew he must die. At least he had another Cowboy there by his side ( Marty). How does all this relate to the story? I really haven't the faintest idea. Maybe it relates back to my statement that I support all police, and I always will be loyal. Maybe its because somewhere in my past there was a Cowboy who fought hard for goodness for 25 years and then had to die. To all the young Cowboys everywhere....stay safe. I support you and your efforts.
