Man faces one charge of shoplifting.
Freehold Township Police arrested and charged a Rhode Island man with one count of shoplifting after he allegedly took items from a Freehold Raceway Mall store. Claude Guindon, 25, of Providence R.I., was arrested on Tuesday, July 31 after he allegedly took four portable I-Phone battery chargers from The Apple Store. According to the complaint warrant, the amount of stolen merchandise was equivalent to $519.80. The warrant also explained that Guindon had a prior criminal history. Guindon was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $5,000 bail.
Both stores had alleged shoplifters attempt to take merchandise valued at over $500.
Both Nordstrom and the Apple Store were allegedly hit by shoplifters last week, according to the Freehold Township Police Department. According to a complaint warrant, on Thursday, June 28 Jeffery P. Jadach, 29, of Iselin, allegedly concealed six watches and two belts and knowingly attempted to leave the Nordstrom department store in the Freehold Raceway Mall. The merchandise was valued at $1,970. In a separate complaint warrant, on Friday, June 29 Lawrence C. Grinage, 47, of Baltimore allegedly concealed a Duet 2 2x4 USB Audio Interface while walking out of the Apple store in the Freehold Raceway Mall.
