Gov. Chris Christie names appointments
Following the resignations of several members of the Farmingdale Borough Council earlier this summer, Gov. Chris Christie announced the five people appointed to fill the vacated seats. All five of the new council members are Farmingdale residents with at least one having served the township on the board of education. The five new members are Michael John Burke, George Dyevoich Jr., Joseph E. Hultmark, Patricia A. Linszky and Michael J. Romano. In a resume provided by the governor's office Dyevoich lists his current occupation as Circulation Sales Manager for the Star Ledger. Must be Borough resident
Following the resignation by members of the Farmingdale Borough Council the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and the office of Gov. Chris Christie has been given the task of filling the empty seats on the dais. On Thursday evening Gov. Christie's office sent out a press release looking for candidates to fill the five vacant seats. By state statute the governor's office and the DCA are now taking applications from borough residents to fill the seats in order to complete the council. Those Farmingdale residents interested in applying must consent to a background check that includes a criminal history check, credit history, judgements and driving record according to the press release. Council members resign in neighboring town
A planned meeting of the Farmingdale Borough Council was cancelled last night following the resignations of several of the members. According to a report in the Tri-Town News several members of the council resigned earlier this summer with more members submitting their resignation prior to Tuesday's meeting. The report said the borough clerk and code enforcement officer had also recently resigned. In an effort to find a resolution to the situation, the borough has reached out to Gov.
