Christie In Belmar: Governor Promises Bipartisan Approach to Sandy Restoration

At Chris Christie's first town hall meeting since Hurricane Sandy, the New Jersey governor promises to put politics aside.

Beyond New Jersey’s borders, Gov. Chris Christie’s post-Hurricane Sandy motives have been a topic of debate. His embrace of President Barack Obama following his arrival in New Jersey after the storm drew jeers from hardline Republicans concerned with the image it would present so close to the election. None of it matters, Christie said to a standing room only audience at Belmar’s municipal …

Some Ways to Help in Monmouth County after Hurricane Sandy

So many are still in need. There are many opportunities to lend a hand.

Almost two weeks after Hurricane Sandy, and just days after a nor'easter hit Monmouth County, families still find themselves in need. We've seen the images of destruction, and the images of hope. So many residents have already dedicated their money and time to rebuildng towns such as Union Beach and Keyport, but there is still more to be done. Here are some ways you can help: Beacon of Hope Center, Hazlet: The formerly vacant Childrens Wear storefront has been taken over and dubbed "The Beacon of Hope" by the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce by its members, who are behind it. Call 732-737-1836 or 732-740-3551 for information or questions. Connect to the NMCC Beacon of Hope to learn what the volunteers need now. Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., …
