Guadagno to Address Howell Chamber on Wednesday

Lt. Governor to be special guest speaker

The Howell Chamber of Commerce will hold its general membership and business development meeting on Wednesday morning with Lt. Governor and Monmouth County native Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno scheduled as the guest speaker. According to the Champer's website Guadagno is expected to "discuss the ongoing efforts to improve the NJ business climate. Since taking the position in Trenton Guadagno has stayed active in her home county and in the Howell area. She has appeared at local businesses and also helped residents affected by Hurricane Irene.  Wednesday's meeting will be held at Lomurro, Davison, Eastman & Munoz located at 100 Willobrook Road, Suite 100. VIDEO: Lt. Governor Visits Old Monmouth Candies

Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno stopped by Old Monmouth Candies while on a tour of Monmouth, Ocean and Mercer County Chocolate Manufactures.

Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno made an appearance in neighboring Freehold last week to get an inside look at one of Monmouth County’s oldest candy manufactures. On Friday, Feb. 8, Guadagno spent her day visiting Monmouth, Ocean and Mercer County chocolate manufactures. Her stop in Monmouth County was at Old Monmouth Candies. There, she spoke to business owners Susan and Hal Gunther about the history of the business while going on a tour of the facility. Since Friday’s visit was during Valentine’s Day preparations, Guadagno was able to see Old Monmouth Candies' vast seasonal selection along with the store’s most well known product; peanut brittle. Michael Guadagno, Husband of Lt. Gov., Elevated to Appellate Judge

Superior Court Judge Michael Guadagno, the husband of Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, has been elevated to the Appellate Division effective Aug. 1, state Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner announced late Tuesday. Guadagno, a Monmouth Beach resident, was appointed to the bench in 2005 by Gov. Richard Codey. He served as a family court judge in Monmouth County until 2008 when he was transferred to the family court in Ocean County. In 2010, he returned to Monmouth County as presiding judge of the family court. He served a temporary assignment to the Appellate Division earlier this year. The Appellate Division of the Superior Court is the state's intermediate appellate court, according to a statement from the New Jersey Judiciary. The division …

Howell Resident Appointed to State Education Funding Task Force

Fort Lee Interim Superintendent Steven Engravalle is among seven people tasked with making recommendations to the governor on the Free and Reduced Price School Lunch Program and the current school funding formula.

Acting New Jersey Governor Kim Guadagno Wednesday appointed seven representatives from the public and private sectors to the newly created New Jersey Education Funding Task Force, and Fort Lee’s Interim Superintendent of Schools was among the appointees. “The Education Funding Task Force will evaluate the use of the Free and Reduced Price School Lunch Program as a measure for ‘at-risk’ students, explore the viability of alternative measures, and generally provide recommendations to address aspects of the school funding formula that are susceptible to fraud and abuse,” said Guadagno in a statement announcing the appointments.
