Second quarter tax bills were due yesterday, May 1. The last day to pay is next Thursday, May 10 by 3 p.m. Don't forget Township offices will be closed Monday, May 28 for Memorial Day.

Federal and state income taxes have to be postmarked by today
Tax returns at the federal and state levels have to be postmarked by today, Tuesday April 17 to meet this year's deadline. This year's deadline is two days later than the regular April 15 mark because this year it fell on a Sunday and yesterday was Emancipation Day in Washington DC. The Howell Post Office, located at 4170 Route 9 will be open until 5 p.m. The Adelphia Post Office, located at 16 Wyckoff Rd. will be open until 4:30 p.m. In prior years there were locations open later on Tax Day before the increase in electronic filings cut down on the need for extended hours. The teen council of the club is selling a variety of species through Wednesday, April 11.
The last day for people to order tree seedlings from the Monmouth County 4-H Teen Council is Wednesday, April 11. “The county’s Teen Council is comprised of high school youth who meet, plan and participate in activities that develop leadership skills, address community needs,” said Kaitlin Everett, Monmouth County 4-H Agent. This fundraiser helps the community landscape and plant more trees at an affordable price. The council is offering a variety of species to choose from: Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir and White Pines are the four varieties of evergreen seedlings available in bundles of 25 seedlings for $15. Park opens for another exciting season today
Not only is it opening day for the local Major League Baseball clubs, it is also the first official day of the season for Six Flags Great Adventure. The park opens at 10:30 today and will be open until 8 p.m. while the Wild Safari opened at nine and will stay open until four. The park will stay open with similar hours until April 15 when it will mostly be open on the weekends. The full summer schedule does not start until May 23. Blood drive and bake sale to be held in honor of young resident
A blood drive and bake sale will be held on Thursday at Land O'Pines School to benefit the family of Middle School North student Madison Beggs. The event will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the school's gym on Windeler Rd. Those interested in donating must be at least 16-years-old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Donors are also encouraged to eat before donating and must bring identification with a signature and photograph as well.
