Neptune Man Sentenced to 50-Year Prison Term for Eatontown Murder

Tahj J. Pines is the third man to stand trial in the case.

A Neptune man convicted in December for his role in the 2008 murder of an Eatontown man received a 50-year jail sentence on Friday, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced in a press release. Tahj J. Pines, 27, along with his brother Aron T. Pines, 23, Lashawn Fitch, 22, all of Neptune, and Kenneth M. Bacon-Vaughters, 23, of Asbury Park, traveled to 24-year-old Nathaniel Wiggins’ Eatontown apartment on March 11, 2008 intending to rob him, authorities said. Once they arrived at the apartment, Tahj Pines, Bacon-Vaughters and Fitch approached the apartment, while Aron Pines remained in the driver’s seat of the car, according to authorities. Freehold Borough Man Charged With Murder

Man arrested and charged in connection with Thursday's shooting in Asbury Park

A Freehold Borough man was charged with murder in connection with a shooting in Asbury Park Thursday that left one man dead and another seriously wounded, authorities said Friday. Jamar S. Walker, 30, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful  purpose. Walker's cash bail was set at $1.5 million, according to a release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. Following an argument in Asbury Park on Thursday, authorities say Walker shot Orlando Rowe, 30, of Bridgeport, Conn., and a 23-year old Freehold Borough man, whose name has not been released. CBS Delves Into 50-Year-Old Wall Murder

Network's "48 Hours" program airs case of fugitive George Wright

The man who spent 41 years on the lam after escaping from prison following his conviction on charges he murdered a man at a Wall Township gas station was the subject of a CBS news show this weekend. "48 Hours'' aired a 42-minute segment on the case of George Wright, who was convicted of killing Walter Patterson at his gas station on the Routes 33/34 circle on Nov. 23, 1962.  Wright spent seven years in a U.S. prison for the murder before escaping in 1970. He then hijacked a plane in 1972 from the U.S. to Algeria along with other Black Liberation Army militants. He was captured just last year in Portugal after his U.S. fingerprint matched one in Portugal's database of prints for all citizens. Portugal has refused to extradite Wright to the …

Father Of Slain Toddler Indicted On First-Degree Murder Charges

Arthur E. Morgan III, father of 2-year-old Tierra Morgan-Glover, on Monday was indicted on first-degree murder charges for the death of the toddler who was found dead in Shark River Park late last year, authorities said. Morgan, 27, whose last known address was in Eatontown, was also indicted on third-degree interference with custody and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child charges, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Morgan faces a maximum of five years in prison if convicted of the custody charge; 10 years on the endangerment charge and life in prison on the murder charge, since Tierra was less than 14 years old at the time of her death, according to the Prosecutor's Office. Father Of Slain Toddler Arrested In California

Arthur Morgan wanted for murder in connection with the death of 2-year-old daughter

Arthur Eugene Morgan III, wanted for murder in the death of his 2-year-old daughter, has been arrested in San Diego, Calif., the U.S. Marshal Office said tonight. Morgan, on the lam since the body of his daughter, Tierra Morgan-Glover, was found in a stream in Shark River Park in Wall last week, was arrested in a house in San Diego, said U.S. Marshal spokeswoman Lynzey Donahue. The home, on the 800 block of Euclid Ave. in East San Diego, was owned by a friend of Morgan's, Deputy U.S. Marshal Omar Castillo said. The service had received information from New Jersey that Morgan may be in East San Diego Tuesday. Castillo did not know from what agency the tip came from. The Marshal service tracked down the home and surveiled it for seven hours …
