Shawn Hannon was one of 25 people arrested in connection with a multi-jurisdictional narcotics investigation.
A paraprofessional at Manalapan High School, Shawn Hannon, was arrested in connection with a multi-jursidictional narcotics investigation on Wednesday, April 3, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato announced today. Hannon was one of twenty-five individuals arrested in the investigation which resulted in the seizure of marijuana, LSD, ecstasy (MDMA), pills, weapons and cash. Hannon, 26, of Tinton Falls, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance for having 30 Oxycodone pills and one Suboxone pill in his ownership. The chase began in Howell and went through Freehold, Manalpan and Marlboro before ending in Aberdeen.
Devante Jones, 19, of Cliffwood was indicted this week on charges of eluding police after an August police chase which spanned from Howell to Aberdeen. The chase eventually ended with his being apprehended following a foot pursuit in Aberdeen, according to police. According to Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd, Jones was observed by Cpl. Fred Bauer to be driving his 2012 Toyota in a reckless manner. After Jones refused to stop he lead officers on a multi-department chase up Rt. 9 through Freehold, Manalapan and Marlboro before Bauer stopped his chase. Dodd said Aberdeen Police Department then picked up the chase. After attempting to get out of the car and flee on foot Dodd said Jones was arrested in Aberdeen. Jones was indicted on charges in …

A Manalapan woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl and streaming the assault over the internet, New Jersey U.S. District Attorney Paul J. Fishman and Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division announced Tuesday. Jennifer Mahoney, 33, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Mary L. Cooper to sexual exploitation of a child and Cooper imposed Mahoney’s sentence in Trenton Federal Court. Mahoney admitted to sexually assaulting the 5-year-old girl and steaming the assault via Skype, which is a video-chatting service. Bomb threat took place on Oct. 25 and caused courthouse to be evacuated.
The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged a man in connection to the Oct. 25 bomb threat against the Monmouth County Courthouse. Ellis W. Goodson, 35, allegedly made a 9-1-1 call on Thursday, Oct. 25 and warned that a bombing would take place at the courthouse that day. In a previous article, Patch reported that a bomb threat against the Courthouse came from a 9-1-1 call around 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25. At 12:30 p.m. the Courthouse was evacuated and area K-9 explosives-detecting dogs were brought in to sweep the building. After a sweep of the building, no explosives were found, but due to the amount of time required for the sweep, the courthouse was closed down for the rest of the day. A Freehold woman and Manalapan man were medevaced to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Monday morning after being hit by a car.
A Freehold woman was one of the two pedestrians seriously injured after being struck by a car on Route 9 Monday morning. Manalapan police responded to the scene at 3:25 a.m. to investigate the accident. Stephen Kelly, 21, of Manalapan and Ann Baez, 22, of Freehold were impacted by the vehicle. According to police, the accident occured in front of the Bagel World Shopping Plaza in Manalapan. A 2009 Nissan Versa traveling in the right lane of Route 9 North struck the two pedestrians crossing the highway at the designated crosswalk. UPDATE: Around 12:45 p.m., Mayor Jon Hornik authorized the Marlboro PD to bring a van to transport the Cano family out of town, to a relative's home. A Marlboro family is in desperate need of a way to get out of town. The Cano family has a disabled daughter, who recently got out of the hospital after a bout with pneumonia. The family had to abandon their wheelchair accessible van in Perth Amboy after a failed attempt to find gas to fill it up. Right now, the family has no power and an electric stove. Their generator is being used solely to power their daughter's nebulizer. "They just can't stay there, it is too cold, she is going to get pneumonia again," said Cheri Golub, a family friend. Update: 5:49 a.m., Oct. 23: The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office says a body believed to be that of Autumn Pasquale has been found in a recycling container. A spokesman did not disclose where the discovery was made, The (NY) Daily News reports this morning. The body was discovered late Monday night. This week, the Department of Environmental Protection warned New Jersey residents that with mating season upon us, deer will become more erratic on New Jersey roads. “White-tailed deer are on the move and unpredictable during this season,” said Division of Fish and Wildlife Director David Chanda. “Deer are much more likely to dart into roads without warning at this time of year. Drivers should be extra alert to avoid collisions that could result in injuries and damage to their vehicles.” While the Monmouth County Parks System allows hunting on county ground as a means of controlling the deer population, car accidents involving deer are still high in numbers. Manalapan police were dispatched to the intersection of Route 9 North and Ryan Road on Friday shortly before 7:30 a.m for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. Nina Tsuik, 61, of Manalapan, was found lying on the shoulder of Route 9 upon police arrival. Tsuik was medevaced to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of her injuries. Tsuik's condition is not currently known at this time, according to Manalapan Police Captain Michael Fountain. Manalapan man Luke Palumbo, 19, was the driver of the vehicle who struck Tsuik Friday morning. Police have not filed any charges against Palumbo because the cause of the accident has not yet been determined. The incident is currently under investigation by the Manalapan Police …

The Jewish Federation of Monmouth County is offering a $2,500 reward to anyone who has information that can lead to the arrest of the individuals who vandalized the Monmouth Heights neighborhood with anti-Semitic symbols on Sept. 6., Acting Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced Friday. Red swastikas and anti-Semitic language were spray painted throughout the Manalapan Township neighborhood on cars, road signs, fences, sidewalks, utility boxes and more.
