Ramtown Fire Department Donates Truck to Union Beach
Utility truck to help community in need
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy communities like Union Beach lost not only house but also vital emergency equipment. When the local Ramtown Fire Department was deciding what to do with an old utility truck it was decided they would donate the vehicle to the first responders in shore community. Fire Commissioner Greg Scarlato, who represents the Ramtown house, said it was an easy decision. "We were looking for a way to clean it off and get rid of it," he said. "We went to the county fire marshal's office and they said after the storm the fire company can use it."
