Chef and restaurateur opens new restaurant at local mall
The latest addition to the Freehold Raceway Mall arrived on Wednesday morning when Bobby Flay opened his newest Bobby's Burger Palace. The restaurant offers wide variety of options including his well known hamburgers, sandwiches and sides, and there was a crowd waiting to try the food and meet the Iron Chef himself. The business opening had a charitable beginning: $1 of the purchase price of every burger sold during the first week of operation will go to The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Bobby Flay’s newest restaurant will open its doors in Freehold on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay has made a name for himself on television and in the restaurant industry but, later this week he will make a name for himself in Freehold. On Wednesday, Dec. 5, Flay will open his twelfth location of his restaurant, Bobby’s Burger Palace (BBP). The restaurant will make its new home adjacent to JC Penney in the south corridor of the Freehold Raceway Mall. According to a press release on Flay’s newest restaurant, Freehold’s location of BBP seats 73 and is a nod to a classic burger joint with a twist. BBP serves ten signature burgers inspired by Flay’s travels as well as delicious sides and specialty milkshakes. Due to weather conditions the mall is closed Monday, Oct. 29.
The Freehold Raceway Mall is closing its doors today due to the upcoming storm. An emergency alert is now on the mall's website and explains that due to current weather conditions, it is closed on Monday, Oct. 29. The alert does not extend past Monday at this time. On the mall’s Facebook page it explains that department stores and outside restaurants may vary. However, JC Penny, Nordstrom and Macy's are currently closed. If you are planning on heading to the mall for a specific store today, be sure to call before leaving your home.

Man charged with robbery with force and shoplifting.
A Queens Man faces two charges after he allegedly struck a store employee while shoplifting. Mustafa Miloudi, 27, of Welling Court, was arrested Monday by Freehold Township Police at the JC Penney store in the Freehold Raceway Mall. According to Miloudi’s complaint warrant, he attempted leave the store and shoplift jeans valued at $135. When approached by a store employee, Miloudi allegedly struck the man with a closed fist. Miloudi has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correction Institution on $51,000 bail.

An Eatontown resident allegedly had over $400 of stolen merchandise in her possession at the time of her arrest.
An Eatontown woman faces assault and shoplifting charges after she allegedly assaulted a loss prevention officer at the Freehold Raceway Mall. A Sears loss prevention officer stopped Alexandria I. Ortiz, 19, of Meadowbrook Ave, on Thursday when they allegedly observed her attempting to steal merchandise. According to the complaint warrant, Ortiz punched and kicked the officer when he apprehended her and threatened him by saying “Don’t you worry, you’re going to get yours”. The complaint warrant continues to explain that Ortiz had in her possession over $200.50 worth of stolen merchandise from Abercrombie & Fitch, Charlotte Russe, and Hollister at the time of her arrest. The merchandise she attempted to steal from Sears was valued at $223.…

Man faces one charge of shoplifting.
Freehold Township Police arrested and charged a Rhode Island man with one count of shoplifting after he allegedly took items from a Freehold Raceway Mall store. Claude Guindon, 25, of Providence R.I., was arrested on Tuesday, July 31 after he allegedly took four portable I-Phone battery chargers from The Apple Store. According to the complaint warrant, the amount of stolen merchandise was equivalent to $519.80. The warrant also explained that Guindon had a prior criminal history. Guindon was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $5,000 bail.

They allegedly had over $1,000 worth of stolen merchandise in their possession.
Freehold Township Police arrested a couple of shoplifters trying to get away with over $1,000 worth of merchandise. Tai France, 29, and Tyrone McLeod, 31, both of Brooklyn, were arrested at the Freehold Raceway Mall on June 25. They allegedly tried to hide $428.50 worth of clothing and walk out of the Lord and Taylor in the Freehold Raceway Mall when they were caught. They also allegedly had $72.85 worth of stolen clothing from H&M, $244.75 from American Eagle and $450 from Abercrombie & Fitch. France and McLeod are charged with shoplifting and receiving stolen property. Both had a prior criminal history at the time of their arrest.

Music artists CeeLo Green and Lupe Fiasco and NY Giant Victor Cruz will all be at the Freehold Raceway Mall this weekend to celebrate the grand opening of the new Microsoft store. The festivities will start with a grand opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 9. The Microsoft Store doors open at 10:00 a.m. after the ribbon cutting. The first 800 people in line for the grand opening will receive two premiere-viewing tickets to the Lupe Fiasco and CeeLo Green concert scheduled for Saturday night in the Dick’s Sporting Goods parking lot at 7:00 p.m. Fans are invited to start lining up for the opening the night before at 10:00 p.m. in the parking lot between Nordstrom and Macy’s, but no tents will be permitted. A 3-month-old Sato puppy found a home after the new Monmouth County SPCA Homeward Bound Adoption Center at the nearby Freehold Raceway Mall was open for only 20 minutes. Katlyn Hamilton, 22, of Manasquan, is the proud new owner. “She doesn’t have a name yet, but we have a family tradition of naming our pets after Irish beers,” she said about the first pup to leave the center. Ten minutes after Hamilton and her brother signed the adoption papers, another lucky puppy found a new best friend. And the trend continued throughout the day. The one in Freehold is the second Bobby's Burger Palace I went and I will not come back again to any of his restaurants. Our order was all messed up. I ordered my burger well done, but I got a pink bloody burger. My daughters was over cooked and dried. Our mango milkshake tasted like banana. The portions are tiny small, and expensive.
