OK council- also look into the Safe Routes to School grant program. It'll provide $$ for infrastructure for walking and biking to schools. http://www.saferoutespartnership.org/state/srts-in-your-state/newjersey

LOVE LOVE LOVE it! We need more of it around town throughout the major roads.

There's a great freedom to cycling around town under your own power without the hassle of parking far away, fueling up, or having to repeatedly getting in/out of a car. Ever try to drive to a baseball game or soccer game in town- it's a nightmare, but EASY on a bike.

Store owners need to learn that bicycles move slower and their storefront is longer in our vision- that translates to more frequent stopping, browsing, SPENDING!

We've got a tiny town and should heavily embrace bicycling- I can't help but shake my head at events like Earth Day or the Wine/Jazz and Blues festival where the majority of attendees DRIVE.

Please remember that bicycles also classify as a motor vehicle, that means SHARE THE ROAD with them, follow the traffic laws, no talking/texting while cycling, and obey the speed limits. Get your kids bicycling (safely), it will eventually make them a safer car driver- and give them freedom, not to mention your own freedom from being a taxi.

@Nj Ghost - The NJ DOT is primarily funded through our state taxes. Everyone who pays taxes (income, sales, etc) contributes- that even means people that don't own cars like kids too. So bicyclists already pay for street repairs, but are just hassled by people with your attitude.

If cyclists ride the road- they should be held to the standards published by the NJ DOT, and ticketed by the police if they don't (just like speeders etc). See "Sharing the Road" page 21, "New Jersey Bicycling Law & Roadway Restrictions" page 41, and the entire manual at http://www.state.nj.us/transportation/commuter/bike/pdf/bicyclingmanual.pdf

The legal push should be Eminent Domain. I can't believe they red-lined public access. They're embezzling tax payer money for their own good- this is criminal.

Good work council at keeping labor costs affordable.

I'm not dinging the Polize, the hard work, or the jobs they perform- but this is one of the reasons our taxes go up every year. One cop earning 133K retires, and we can afford to replace him with 4 new cops. Maybe we need to set salary caps or force retirement at 20 years of service. I realize there is a great need for senior leadership and I want that, but not at the bill I'm being forced to pay as a taxpayer.

I can only imagine how much it would cost us if they rejected the shared services...

30 Million and only 2500 students!!! Please kill Salsa and focus on ENGLISH, reading, writing, cursive too. We need to find ways to eliminate all increases in taxes and school budgets, has anyone forgotten Sandy, families with ruined homes, and a decreasing tax base? We can't afford to just take take take any longer.

30 MILLION DOLLARS for 2500 students- I just about choked on my morning beverage... I'd like if the board actually tried to keep increases to ZERO dollars. Let's not try to drive out the families that still live here- but why should they, there's no incentives at all.

-Cut Salsa and just put on Dora. Focus on teaching the language of our nation (ENGLISH), and please please add cursive writing it IS useful!
-Eliminate the bus system for elementary students, or start charging $1 per day for parents who insist on driving their kids to school. The jams, traffic nuisance, and danger they cause on our local roads ruins quality of life. It wouldn't kill them to walk.
-I am totally against school resource officers. Our town is small and can have police/fire at the school in minutes
-Cancel the HoneyWell alert system and ask for a refund. If I get one more high priority alert that basketball tickets are sold out...
