ReplyReconstruction is happening at many levels and this is tapping a completely different budget to compliment all other forms of assistance already being given. Loosing two million visitors to the local economy next summer will be your second Sandy. I would bet many of the police forces along the 36 corridor are supported through traffic tickets of the two million that visit every year. The Coast Guard is also the fifth branch of our armed services and this is a good way to allow them access to their base again. Hummm. . .

ReplyRemember nature never intended the shore to be a primary residence. Stupidity is supposed to hurt in anything you do in life and it would be stupid to live there as your primary residence if you can't pay to play. Monmouth County is already setting up beach sweeps to clean the beaches, so expect those public roads in your area to be used for the same. I'm sure local businesses would like to see the public roads used by all. You can't keep the shore bottled up forever.

ReplyAnyone know the fee for the kit, or the test? Last time I tried for another event in Hazlet last year, I was turned away because they had reached the prescribed amount of donors that were prepaid, or something like that. I was told to get a home kit that was being sold for $50 if I remember. I never knew these types of drives hold a limit to donors. I also can't afford the fee. Please correct me if these terms don't apply here.

ReplyPeanuts could have been kept and served by the staff in a conservative way, to keep us drinking the beer. Cutting it completely sounds like they want to cut expenses. I wonder what menu ingredients they are cutting?

ReplyWhy not cut a new entrance/exit onto Constitution Drive? Google maps does not list a name for this park and I thought the only Sickles Park was next to Sickles Market in Little Silver. I'm guessing this is a new park?

ReplyNJ has made a living exporting waste to PA and other states under the protection of Interstate Commerce rules. Even NYC played the game of fronting Construction waste though NJ to enter upstate NY landfills without impunity. Now the tides have turned with PA wanting to send their waste to NJ. Knowing this NJ should institute a system of tipping fees and other environmental taxes to help set up and pay for the proper treatment of this waste. Otherwise treat it in PA which you think would be cheaper than trucking it to the shore. NJ has a vast history in waste treatment for the maritime industry in place.

Christine, Your comments are just another example of how we ignore the mentally ill. Even in the gun debate, we haven't suggested one way to recognize the mentally ill. It's a tough time to be alive.
