Freehold Native Gets Recipe Featured in National PatchCooks Post

If cooking is your jam (and your peanut butter and your perfectly cooked steak dinner)...let us know!

Congrats!

Amanda Bloodgood, a Freehold native and resident of Jackson, NJ, has just gotten her go-to weekend breakfast recipe featured in PatchCooks. (Well, it had Nutella in it, so...how could we not.)

PatchCooks is a new nationally crowd-sourced feature that gathers favorite recipes from Patch readers coast to coast each week on a particular theme. This week's theme was "weekend breakfast"—delicious things you love to make when you have a little extra time.

We're no test cooks though—that's where you come in! Test it, try it and tweak it your way. Just be sure to share your recipes, tips, tricks and photos back. Use #patchcooks on Twitter or email kathleen@patch.com.

Next week's theme: Ridiculously easy weeknight dinners, emphasis on "I can make that with three hungry kids hanging all over me, easy." What's your go-to recipe?

And here's a popular recipe Amanda swears by, adding her own spin.

Amanda's Nutella Banana Crepes
2 eggs
1 cup milk (I used 2%)
1/3 cup water
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Dash of Nutmeg
About 1/2 cup Nutella
1 to 2 bananas, sliced

Blend all the ingredients until smooth and cook crepes according to your basic crepe protocol. [Ed: Not easy! Many a home cook has been felled by the simple crepe. But keep plugging away. Very hot pan, thin batter and patience are my only secrets.]

Fill crepes with Nutella and banana.

Thanks Amanda!
